Improvement Requests

Non-comprehensive list of requested improvements to start. Please review and assess which ones can be tackled in 2026 under our current contract, and which items require more effort — provide an associated cost/scope for each.

1. Implement mega-menu (client will send a draft later this week)
   • If we have a former draft, review that too.
2. Install programs to meet ADA digital accessibility requirements ahead of the 2027 deadline
   • Client has a few programs for consideration and is open to other suggestions as well.
   • See attached "audit" recaps from CivicPlus.
3. Connect website to Constant Contact for the Weekly Willkey (weekly e-newsletter)
4. Update to .gov (need to request domain)
5. Revise website design to adhere more closely to the city brand, Bavarian-themed elements, and Old World Bavarian colors approved by the Design Review Board (fonts, colors, photos, etc.)
   • The goal is to simplify and streamline the entire website.
   • Client would like to make incremental changes this year that slowly improve the site over time, so that by the start of 2027 there's a noticeable improvement.
6. Conduct internal staff training on previously built templates, etc.
7. Document portal
   • Redefine and modify (or create a new plugin) so the portal talks with the entire site for searchability.
8. Identify new plugins or programs for the file system
9. Identify new plugins or programs for an improved city calendar experience (example: chelanwa.portal.civicclerk.com)
10. Audit site for broken links and repair all.
11. Install employee intranet access (need to coordinate with Firefly)
12. Install a new chatbot for site visitors (internal and external)
13. Review and revise the 10 short-link icons on the main page
